Brain Trauma and ALS

New study draws a link between repetitive brain trauma and a neurological disorder.

I believe there should be full disclosure about the long term effects of participation in sports that cause frequent mild brain trauma (football, boxing, etc). I understand it’s not a popular position to take but I’m concerned about the long term health of collision sport athletes. Obviously not everyone who participates in these sports are going to have serious brain injury but it makes sense that there is probably a dose response. Obviously, the most common of these sports is football. Please read more and education yourself.

    A cousin of mine was a boxer known for being able to take hits as well as give them. ALS took him. New knowledge may need to inform current risk-benefit analyses when it comes to letting kids take head shots.
